About the Event
Herbalism is the earliest system of medicine known, and the foundation of all other forms of medicine. It is the study of plants: their energetic properties, affinities, and how they interact with the world around them. It's the study of the body, its systems, and how natural materials affect it. But most importantly herbalism is a deep understanding of how plants and other natural materials coexist within the human element, and vice versa.
In this 4-part series, students will learn the historical ties present between human evolution and plantlife domestication, and the transition of homeopathic treatments into modern magic & medicine. We'll also cover safe practices when sourcing & working with herbs, including wild identification and ethical harvesting of local flora, and how different methods of delivery can change the affects of an herb in both spells and physical treatments. Attendance of each class is not mandatory in order to understand the following sessions, so students have the choice to attend one or more classes depending on the interest in the topics being covered.
The series includes the following sessions:
- 8/27: Where our Roots Lie - How Plants Developed Civilizations & The Transition of Ancestral Homeopathic Solutions to Modern Magic
- 9/10: What She Provides - Ethical Sourcing & Identification of Natural Ingredients
- 9/24: Mind & Body - Utilizing Natural Remedies to Heal & Enhance || Addressing the Myth of "Unnatural" Medicines
- 10/8: Tea & Tonic - Appropriate Preparation Methods for Natural Ingredients, and Why It Matters
Each session costs $30 to attend individually, or the full series can be purchased at a discounted rate of $100 for all 4 classes - call or email us to register at the discounted rate!
