Misogyny, Witchcraft, and the Malleus Maleficarum

About the Event
In this class, we'll investigate one of the most influential and misogynistic pieces of witch-hunting literature: The Malleus Maleficarum (1486). Together we'll dive deep into this text and explore how it contributed to the negative portrayal of witches, informed popular conceptions of dark magic, and fueled the persecution of women during the witch trials in both Europe and America.
